June Booster Club Meeting

Booster Club

Tuesday June 13th 2022 at 7PM





  1. Call to Order:    Marissa Larson, Glen Pemberton, Rachelle Cook, Nikki Leech, Becky Babcock, Hope Roisen                            





 





  1. Minutes:                                         





    1. Review of minutes from May 3rd, 2022







 





  1. Treasurer’s Report                            





    1. Balance of Account: 1976.76 as of 6/7/22




    2. Boosters club has a bit more to turn in from snack sales







 



Unfinished (old) Business                





  1. Scholastic Book fair





    1. Scholastic Book Rewards: $787.26 







 





  1. Sports Booster 





    1. Updates: 




    2. Concessions updates: Still needs to be cleaned out




    3. Grant: Received a portion of the grant $1500 (pitching machine) - Boosters need to do the rest of the funding? Glen has athletic account that could go toward the difference! He is willing to be use this - it will be ordered after July 1, 2022!




    4. Sports Banquet: 





      1. Went well, 85 families? 




      2. Should we do this after each sports season?




      3. Could we make it work to serve food DURING the awards? 




      4. Think about FORMAT: Participation awards? Should it just be recognizing outstanding athletes? All participants are recognized on the stage as once BUT those who have specific contributions/awards would be recognized from the team (step up)




      5. Seating - bleachers could be put away so students are encouraged to sit nearer




      6. Gym could be used for round tables, food, more formal setting/recognition






    5. Coach Claire- Fundraising:




    6. Miscellaneous: Community game! Porta-potty would need to be reordered and water would need to be turned on! Could be a bigger event - bring your campers - BUT would be tricky to restrict personal items/recreation from coming…since it is on school grounds. 







 





  1. End of Year Ice Cream Party





    1. June 7th at 1pm. 




    2. Lines were super long





      1. Rachelle suggests staggering k-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-11.






    3. Lots of selections, happy kiddos! 




    4. Covered Char-Em this year as well!







 





  1. Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2nd-May 6th)





    1. Updates: Went very well! 







 





  1. Literacy Family Night_





    1. Updates: Natalie Cantrell shared this with us! She and Samantha Herscher will be presenting more information on schedule, needs after their August training.




    2. Dates




    3. Meal planning - 6 meals for 30ish people -





      1. Realistic Budget? Cheap & Easy - 




      2. Does it need to be 6 different meals OR could we have the same meal or meals - minimize purchasing








  2. Viking Fest





    1. Updates: Halloween time - Friday, October 18, 2022 is last one before Halloween weekend




    2. Teachers, coaches, older students/classes participating




    3. Cake walk, games, tickets/trinkets - classes can keep track of how much money they made to use toward class expenses




    4. Theme could be spooky/haunted house/costumed…etc…




    5. Set an August date to meet & plan (initially)




    6. Marissa will send a Doodle to what date would work for planning






  3.  Meetings every other month





    1. Discussion - solidifying events we want to do, focus our time




    2. Still would have flexibility to add another meeting if needed/requested




    3. Begin in September/October - share with community members with less commitment time




    4. Could rely on emails, other communication trails






  4. Schedule Events for 22-23 School Year





    1. Updates - Marissa will do a Doodle for a ABC get together - possibly Tuesday/Thursday/Friday (weekday)
